Central Missouri Returned Peace Corps Volunteers was formed in 1996 as part of the 35th anniversary of the Peace Corps. It now has contact with over 200 returned volunteers in the Central-Missouri area.
The Central Missouri Returned Peace Corps Association is affiliated with the National Peace Corps Association.
• Provide Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) in Central Missouri with opportunities to socialize with each other
• Educate people about the Peace Corps
• Act as a resource for people interested in joining the Peace Corps
• Promote interactions between RPCVs and the mid-Missouri community
We are an active group of RPCVs who meet regularly and participate in a variety of activities, including volunteer work, social activities, recruiting, and educational programs at local schools.

Nearly 200,000 people have been volunteers in 139 countries since March 1961.
There have been 2,690 Missourians in the Peace Corps since 1961. Currently, there are 150 Missourians serving throughout the world.
There are currently 7,671 Peace Corps volunteers working in 74 countries. They work in education (35 percent), health (22 percent), business (15 percent), environment (14 percent), agriculture (5 percent), youth development (5 percent), and other (4 percent).
The average age of a volunteer today is 25. Six percent of volunteers are over 50 years of age, and the oldest volunteer is 82.
Females make up 60 percent and males 40 percent, minorities are 18 percent, and 89 percent have undergraduate degrees.
